Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
Death Penalty Costs
There are many debates whether or not the costs incurred in a death penalty case, start to finish, is more of a financial burden to the state and/or taxpayers than a case that ends in a judgement of life in prison without parole. Many websites indicate that the death penalty process is longer and much more financial burdensome, but none provide any hard facts. Does anyone know of a site which provides actual data and not just generalizations?

Re: Death Penalty Costs
This question was posted for a response as to the laws in Michigan ... but Michigan does not have the death penalty. So, I don't know of any sites that can answer your question from a Michigan perspective.
You might want to re-post this question for a state that has that penalty ... like Texas.
