Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

third degree retail fraud

I was arrested for retail fraud in the third degree. I have been released and now have to appear before Judge Smolenksi in cascade township. I posted a similar post without including the last piece of information and only got responses from lawyers on the other side of the state. I have, unfortunately, already talked to the police. I realize this was a mistake so if you would like to chastise me--like you have others, go ahead. However, I am searching for at least some legal advice if not legal council. I'm 20 years old and this is my first offense and realize that I will most likely only face a fine and/or probation, this is fine; however I'm also hoping to qualify for the HYTA, and am search for other possible ways to keep this one mistake off of my criminal record.

thanks for your time

Retaining an attorney demonstrates to the judge that you take this matter seriously. Even though, I am on the other side of the state, I handle cases throughout Michigan. An attorney can negotiate with the prosecutor and work in your best interests and lessen the impact of your mistake. If you want help with this, contact our office at www.schmierlaw.com

You shouldn't have any trouble getting HYTA if you listen well and do what you're told.

Just make sure HYTA is included in your plea.
