Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

third degree retail fraud

I was charged with 3rd retail fraud. I sent a letter to the store asking for forgiveness, and I have an upcoming court date. That was my first and last time of doing something that stupid. What are my chances of doing jail time?

If you have no prior convictions, the odds of jail time in your sentence are very small. More likely probation + fines/costs + community service + full restitution. But, the judge has the discretion to give you jail time, so nothing is guaranteed.
