Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
My doctor is accusing me of trying to get narcotic pain medication from outside my family practice. I want to know what can happen to me if my doctor tries to take things further. I tried to speak w/ her about it, but she wouldn't hear what I had to say. I did retrieve extra medication, however, it was due to another medical problem that I had to seek a professional for who prescribed the script to me without my knowledge.

Your doctor likely will not do anything legally but it is possible she will stop prescribing you pain meds in the future. If she does, there is nothing legally you can do to her as she is not legally required to prescribe you medications. It will also be more difficult to find another doc who will see it your way. You may wish to write her a letter, politely explaining things to her. Good Luck!
