Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
DWI case 18 years old
I was aressted for a DWI 18 years ago,in Michigan;1990 month unknown. At that time I showed for sentencing, was given 15 days and $1500.00 fine. I did the time but due to lack of income did not pay the fine. In 2000 I had heart surgery which went bad,I was comatose for 2 and a half months and due to lack of oxeygen,my heart was damaged as well as suffering brain damage. I went through Alochol rehab twice but never touched a drug or drove since.
Due to the lack of oxeygen I have suffered severe memory loss and never recalled the incident. As of late they have me on a new medication;wafarin;which helps to bring back old memories. I am presently going through Alchol rehab, and cardio therapy in hopes to get help through MRS in retraining and requalifying to re-enter the working world. Since I am on Social Security Disability I can't afford to pay a Lawyer., but I need to see what I can do to get this issue resolved. Could I get probation, pay the fines and get this resolved?
