Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

My elderly mother (85) has two years left on her GMAC lease and cannot afford the payment due to a change of circumstances. We have contacted GMAC and they refuse to work with her on lowering her payments. She will have to turn the car in and does not have the finances to pay off any remaining lease payments or penalties. What are the chances of GMAC coming after her for repayment and if they do, can they take from her late husband's pension or her social security?

Thank you for your anticipated assistance in this regard.

This is not a "Criminal Law" issue, but you posted it in that section of LawGuru.com.

You should repost it in another section of LawGuru.com that better applies to the legal area you are having a problem in ... e.g., contract law, consumer law, general civil law, etc.
