embezzlement
error was made on my part at previous job and was short $676.00 i offered to pay but they are involving the police.....im terrified....what can happen?

If the police are involved, then you need to hire counsel before saying or doing anything more.

In the worst case you're looking at up to 2 years probation, a fine, and restitution if you have no prior record. A conviction will also harm your chances for future employment.
Don't talk to the police or anyone else except a lawyer. If there's a warrant you'll get a notice in the mail or a call to turn yourself in.
