Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

employee theft

i have been suspended for employee theft . i was told that they would let me know in a few days and they would be contacting the police , then they allowed me to go home . if they prosecute please tell me what to expect . i'm really scared , i'm a single mom . i can't have them coming to my door and hauling me away . could you please go over what the process is . will there be a warrant or notification , or will they just come get me ? the theft involves approx $1,000 in items . 50 percent of the items were taken out of the trash and sold on e-bay . please help me . what can i do thank you .

They won't come to the door and take you away. You'll get a letter from the police requesting that you turn yourself in. If you have no prior covictions and pose no flight risk, you will likely get a personal bond or a small cash bond when you are arraigned. Speak to no one about this until you have had a chance to consult a lawyer.
