Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

expongement

Wish to have record exponged. Offence was seven years ago gross indecency (sex in a parked car) also misdemeanore a year prior to the preceeding charge. Served probation and never violated the law after 1999. Cuolud this record be exponged?

Re: expongement

We have received a lot of questions re: expungments (or, "setting aside a conviction"). Search the Lawguru.com database of Q&As in Michigan Criminal Law for past answers.

The bottom line is that you are probably ineligible for expungment because you are not supposed to have "more than one conviction" ... and the "one" is the one you're asking to set aside. Two or more charges/counts should make you ineligible.

If you have further questions, personally consult an attorney who handles criminal law cases.

Re: expongement

No. Sorry. Because you have two separate criminal convictions, you are not eligible for an expungement.
