Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

Expunge MI felony with GA DUI (less safe) no contest plea

I received the felony expungement application from the State of Michigan (1996 conviction) & was wondering if a 1999 no contest DUI (less safe .01) in the state of GA would make me ineligible for expungement of felony in MI.

Yes, you are ineligible under Michigan law to set aside (expunge) your Michigan conviction because you have ANOTHER conviction (even tho it is in another state).

Under current Michigan law, you can ask the court to set aside your ONE & ONLY Michigan conviction ... but you also have to attest that you've never been convicted of another misdemeanor or felony crime anywhere ever before. Plus, you have to submit your fingerprints to the Michigan State Police and they do a criminal history check.
