Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

Extasy posession

My daughter was pulled over for a speeding volation in which they found a warrant for her arrest in another county. After finding the warrant (was for posession of ''e'' also) they searched her car and found more ''e'' and some pescription drugs. She was then taken to the jail but was not charged due to pending investagation, but was held until the other county picked her up on the warrant. I have talked to a few different people about this matter and have been told that they may just drop the most recent changes and just let the other county deal with the situation. Is that really possible, because the second offense seems more seroius then the first? If not then how are they going to affect each other being repeat offenses? I am really worried about her, she is very young and I realize that she is going to need represtation, but I would like to answer some of these questions for her as well as myself. It is a long weekend this weekend and I hope that someone sees this question this weekend and can maybe give us some advice. Thanks.

Re: Extasy posession

It's necessary to know your daughter's age and the amount and type of drugs found in the car before the issue of case transfer can be addressed. What is the bond amount stated for her release on the warrant? What two counties are involved?

Re: Extasy posession

First, let me say that I am very sorry for your distress.

I agree with you. I believe that your daughter will have a second case now that drugs were found in her car. There is much you have left out of your email.

How old is your daughter? In what county was the warrant issued? Has your daughter been in trouble before?

I will be in my office this weekend. If you would like to talk, or to learn more about me, go to loebslaw.com
