Failure to appear for sentencing
What are some legitimate reasons that a court would accept for failing to appear for sentencing in a felony drug charge?

Re: Failure to appear for sentencing
ok, I'll resist the temptation to be sarcastic (like if I answered your question: Death).
Are you looking for an excuse that you'll somehow, conveniently fit into? Like, if we said that a good excuse would be "I'm having open heart surgery", you quickly sign up for that?
What exactly is your "excuse"? You can't commit a fraud on the court. If you have an "excuse" for not appearing at a sentencing on a serious charge, common sense says that it had better be a true and legitimate conflict, and be more important and pressing than the importance of the court hearing. So, things like a vet appointment for your dog, an appointment for your haircut, a birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese for your kid ... probably won't fly with the court. But, if you have a pre-scheduled serious medical appointment? Sure.
Why aren't you asking your attorney this question, and seeking his/her advice?
