If some one has already has a felony for alcohol violations with a vehicle, can that be used against them if if they sexually molest a child?

Felony convictions less than 10 years old would be used to enhance the penalty for a felony sex assault conviction. You can read more at:

I don't know what you mean exactly by use against, but any prior convictions can come into play with a variety of ways. Since an alcohol related offense probably isn't similar in actions to a CSC or molestation case, it probably won't be offered to show any kind of pattern of behavior or conduct. If the prior conviction was a felony, that can be used to enhance the sentence of any current felony charge he is facing, regardless of how long ago it was or dissimilar they are. It can also be taken into consideration for sentencing if convicted.
