Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

I have a felony warrant out for my arrest. I just learned I am under fugitive status. I had no idea. This started in September. It was the night I went to rehab as my check in time was 12am. Fearing I wouldn't get the help I was looking for without drugs immediately in my system I tried finding some. ( I know now this was stupid) I went to the apartment of a friend who had giving me drugs before and climbed through the window. I never found anything and left. I accidentally dropped a screw driver I brought in case. I was in detox when I learned I had to talk to a police officer. I told him everything. ( I did not tell him my friend had distributed drugs however) After this I wrote an apology to my friend. I was upset I had done it. Mostly I did this because I really wanted help. I am 90 days clean now. I like how my life is going. I do not feel prison or jail would be in my interest for recovery. Also because I climbed through a window and did not take anything I fail to see how this is a felony. I feel turning myself in would be bad. I don't have money for bail at all. What should I do. Is the testimony I gave while in "Detox" valid? I was told in detox and rehab while in detox we are not in a legal state of mind. Also is it really a felony if I climbed through a window and didn't take anything. Is there a way to settle this out of court? I learned just yesterday of all this. Mail was not coming to me as I've changed addresses so many times as of late.

If there is a fugitive warrant, you're already in the court system. However, we can help you with this case. Read more about our statewide defense team at

If they catch you, your bond and your subsequent incarceration will be quite high. However, if you surrender (go to the police station) your case should be heard quickly. It sounds like your B&E could be reduced to the misdemeanor "Entering without permission" A court-appointed attorney could help you.
