Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

Hello, I'm trying to figure out what the police want from me. Theres a car dealer that has a snowmobile for sale on a trailer. I was out looking at the set earlier and then I left and about 10 minutes later I was stopped at the gas station down the street by a state police trooper. He talked to me and searched my truck for tools saying a witness said it appeared I was stealing the plastic guard on the front of the trailer. He said a couple of the cotter keys were missing that supposedly were there the other day. i had a cordless drill in my truck which he mentioned and also that he took a picture of my footprints around the trailer. Okay...I had nothing on me that proves I was trying to steal this, just the "suspicious" look of it. What could really come of this?

Many things "could really come of this." For instance, nothing could come of this. Or you could be charged with a crime. Or the police might continue their investigation.
