Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
fingerprints back from the police
I had been arrested for something that I didn't do and was later cleared of. I called the court to see how I could get it taken off of my record so that when employers do a backgroun check nothing will come up. They told me I would have to get a lawyer and get my fingerprints back from the police. I wondered how long this process would take and approximately how much it would cost.

Before I can respond to this I have to know what you were charged with. By having this matter cleared were you acquitted or did the prosecuters actually drop the charges against you? Send me this information and I can give you a better response on how to proceed with this matter.
Sincerely,
John Graziani

I need to know whether you were arrested but never charged (i.e. never appeared in court) or were you charged; appeared in court; and were later dismissed?
