My son forged checks on my father's bank account, approximately $600. If my father decides to press charges, how long could he be incarcerated for this crime?

Re: Forgery

Anytime you abdicate your parental responsibilities to the State of Michigan you are making a decision that you cannot take back. In my opinion, its a bad idea.

If your kid has no prior record, he will get probation and about $2000 in fines and other fees.Just bear in mind that once the police are called, you lose control over the situation.

When he's convicted, and it goes on his record, he won't be able to get a good job...maybe no job!

You and grandpa may end up supporting him after you pay off his fines and costs.

Your father should Think this through before he acts. There are no do-overs.
