How many cases are lost each year due to appointed attorneys?

Re: Free Attorneys
My opinion is that a very large portion of cases are not handled well by court appointed lawyers. I base this on watching them in court as well as the huge number of telephone calls we receive in our office each day telling us about problems with court appointed lawyers. Have you heard "You get what you pay for?"
Re: Free Attorneys
the vast majority of cases plead out, 9/10... of the 10% that don't 90% are guilty of something and failed to take a good deal- that leaves 1% about of innocent people losing cases. Of those 1% a small fraction have appointed attorneys. In a major city criminal court with approximately 5000+or- feloney indictments a year less than 50 involve significan miscarriages of justice my estimate
