Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
My friend who is a drug dealer got robbed and assaulted. He knows the identity of the thief. A police report was filed but his name wasn't released but a description was. He also said nothing was stolen but he attempted to. Can we pursue any legal action?

Isn't that what the police report was for? If they find the perpetrator I'm sure they will take action criminally.

It will be up to the prosecutor to decide if charges should be filed. The process doesn't happen overnight. You can consult with a civil attorney to see if you can take civil action. Keep in mind, your friend may have credibility problems given the background you described,
