Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

A friend of mine got arrested in dec 2010 she was released the next day with no bond and court date. She haven't received any kind of documentation on a court date, but recently a job did a background check the job said she had a warrant issued march 2011 but she still have received any court date. She even called earlier this year to see if they are looking for her and they said no. She don't know what to do and can't afford an attorney.

She needs to call the court where this happen in speak to the clerk to see if she has an active warrant. If she does, that probably indicates that they released her but decided to charge her later which is not uncommon. If that is the case, she will need to arrange a time to come in and be arraigned to get the process started on resolving the matter. Most courts have certain days and times that they do walk-inarraignments. A criminal defense attorney can arrange this with the court clerk.
