Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

Graphic Pictures

A former friend sent me graphic pictures of him performing oral sex on another male. I then emailed the pictures to his girlfriend. This former friend accused me of slander for sending these pictures. He said that the photographer has the right to the pictures, not the person in it. He threatened to go to the police if I sent these pictures to anyone. Would I really get in trouble for sending out pictures that he sent me? It is my understanding that I obtained these pictures legally. I am not going to send out the pictures but I wondered if he was correct about it being illegal. Also, do these pictures violate the Don't Ask Don't Tell Policy in the military? Would sending these pictures to military officials be considered slander? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

Re: Graphic Pictures

He has no cause of action against you because 1. he sent you the photos and 2. truth is an absolute defense.

Having said that, you are both behaving like idiots.

You are well advised to cease any communications with your ex-friend and his "girlfriend"... or any one else regarding this matter.
