Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
home invasion / kidnapping
my boyfriend is charged with home invasion.The victim is not likely to come to court.The co-defendant is going to testify against my boyfriend in exchange for a very light sentance.Can he be found guilty w/o the victim?

Yes, it all depends on the evidence and other testimony, such as investigators, eyewitnesses, character witnesses, etc. Even though the victim might not go to court, that doesn't mean the victim's prior statements to the police won't be used as evidence.
