Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
My husbands ex has filed FOUR false police reports against him this year. If we can prove she is lying, what can be done? The cheif of Police suggested suing her. Is the time and cost involved with that even worth it? She has accused him of hitting her in the face with a diaper bag, taking pictures of daycare children on her propterty TWICE and kidnapping their son. We provided proof that we did not kidnap his son and it was our legal time to have him. The police department didn't do anything about it. No charges have EVER been filed as a result of her reports, but the defacement of my husband is getting out of control.

Making a false police report is a crime. If the police aren't doing anything about it, it's unlikely you would prevail in a civil suit.
