Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

Illegal Detainment by non-law enforcement?

My wife had a run in with a aggitated man today. They met on a small dirt road driving in opposite directions. There was not enough room to pass and the man got angry and started yelling at her telling her to back up. My wife backed up about 20 feet into a drive way so the man could continue to drive. The man blocked her into the drive way and would not let her leave and continued to yell at her. My wife kept telling him to drive so she could leave, but he kept her blocked in until he was done screeming? Is this some thing that the police should be notified. His actions of blocking her in seem illegal to me and I would like some input.

Re: Illegal Detainment by non-law enforcement?

Yes, it is a crime, but my advice would be to forget it unless there is any possibility that it would reoccur. Criminals are one thing but crazy people tend to harbor grievances to the extent of taking revenge.
