Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
illegal search
police came to my apartment and
said they had complaint of yelling I
assured him 3 times that the yelling
was not from my apartment. He ten
said can I talk to you and I told him
he could talk to me at the door and
not come in, he barged in and
started searching my bathroom and
specifically the toilet.He found drugs
and my boyfriend grabbed them
and ran. They took him for
questioning and said if you admit
these drugs are yours we will let
you go now and if we charge you it
will only be a charge of
misdemeanor use. I know it was
illegal search and seizure and
possibly harassment, what can we
do?Recently, 3 weeks ago, this
same police officer came into my
apartment when nobody was home
searched, used my boyfriends
phone, and took my prescription
medicine. He even questioned me
about whether or not I still take
that medicine and wanted to take it
from me again this time.
