Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
Illegel internet meetings?
Is it illegel to talk to someone about everyday life online? And since the person is under the age 18 can their parents press charges against someone just for talking with the child?
EX: The one is 20, child is 17. All they talked about is everyday life and what happens in their day. Then they feel like they fall in love. The parents find out, and want to get the police involved.
Is this possible?

Re: Illegel internet meetings?
On so few facts I cannot determine whether anything illegal is at issue. First of all, a person of age 17 is an adult and can give consent in the eyes of the law as far as any sex crimes are concerned. But that was not your question. Sounds to me like you may have a concerned parent who wants to, for lack of a better word, protect his child. Without more information, I cannot tell you if any laws have been broken.
