Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

impounded property

The police found marijuana in my apartment then they removed pieces of furniture which they impounded, they impounded my auto also. The auto is a leased vehicle. They have had the property for 4 weeks now and still have not brought charges against me.

My question is about the car, I have no idea if they will return it or not, should I make the lease payments, how will the lease company get the car back..is my credit automatically ruined with this impounding?

You need to have an experienced and aggressive attorney representing you at this point. The cops are likely messing with you while they keep your car during the time that they await a lab analysis of the pot.

You should contest this activity, as I believe that the police violated your rights. Waiting 4 weeks to act hurts your position. In what city did this happen? I have handled matters like this before. I suggest that you contact me on Monday.
