Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

Need Information

I am from India. My friend has been sentenced to 1 year in child internet predator sting and now he is in the prison. His ERD is Oct 20, 2009. Does this mean that he will be released on Oct 20, 2009 from prison and I would like to know what will be the process and procedure of his deportation ? When will he reach India ?
