Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

Insurance fraud and filing false police report

I filed for clemency in december 07 with the state of michigan to get my record expunged of insurance fraud and filing false police report. I checked with Lansing and they told me they had no record under my name. when I went to wayne county they told me I could'nt get the record expunged. my question is how long does the clemency process take, and is there anything else I can do to get this removed from my record. Also there may be two counts of insurance fraud.

You are no t eligible for an expungment, and I cannot imagine the Governor or President granting you a pardon, under any circumstances.

Sorry!

Expungment (setting aside a conviction) won't work because the laws that give courts the power to set convictions aside say that the one being set aside has to be that person's one and only criminal conviction. You have 2 convictions.

Clemency is a process that goes through the Governor's office. I cannot give you an opinion whether that office would help you out.
