Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

internet fraud

i use to work for the detroit tigers and as a joke i put an ad on craigslist saying people had opening day tickets available and left their phone numbers so people would call and fill their voicemails up. i've talked to the cops about it and signed a statement and now they want to press charges and wondering what can happen from this. i've never been in trouble before and want to see what you think will or can happen, thanks for any advice you can give.

Re: internet fraud

What can happen is they can charge you with several offenses. This is a good time to hire an attorney who can negotiate with the prosecutor, advise you to keep your mouth shut, and try and reduce your penalties and and maybe keep your criminal record clean. If you need help with this, contact our office at 248.705.3742

Use your constitutional right to remain silent. If police want to talk to you some more, tell them you want a lawyer. Stop talking. Get an attorney right away. Even though you may have made a statement, that statement may not be admissable in Court or used against you. It depends on many factors. Feel free to contact me. Daniel Hajji, 248.865.4700.
