How long can the police keep you under investigation for a crime. 5 months seem too long?

Re: investigation csc
The police can investigate a case as long as the statute of limitations allows for any case. I don't know what the charges may be, but this would be a defense if the investigation lasted beyond the statute. 3 years on some crimes, no statute of limitations on others (murder). Hope this helps. Contact me at www.kliszlaw.com for more info. Tim Klisz
