Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
if i am involved in a criminal trial and the witness does not appear in court for the actual trial what happens

If its the only witness in the case and the Prosecution has no other evidence to prove you guilty beyond a reasonable doubt on every element of the crime you're charged with, you can ask for a dismissal. If the Judge does grant your dismissal, it will probably be dismissed without prejudice- meaning that the Prosecution can re-charge you later.
