Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

Larceny

My g/f and I were accused of larceny in the mall after finding an envelope with $200. We handed the money over to the police that questioned us, but were not arrested. Our info was taken and told that the record would be sent to the county detective to determin if they would prosicute us. How serious is this? Does anyone know the potential punishment for this in MI? I have never been in trouble before, and was still in the mall 2 hours after the finding.

Re: Larceny

You have already begun to do damage to yourself by speaking with the police. NEVER SPEAK TO THE POLICE WITHOUT AN ATTORNEY BEING PRESENT.

Rather than creating more problems for yourself, you should contact an experienced and aggressive attorney if you hear from the cops again.

We'd be pleased to discuss this further with you if you need us. We can be reached at 1 8667665245.
