Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

If my husband has been convicted of a felony and he has his record expunged. Can ha become a police officer? The felony he was convicted of is no longer a felony. And was convicted 11 years ago and has no other convictions.

If it was expunged, then it's like it never happened, so that would not be a reason in itself to deny him a position as a police officer.
