Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

Need legal advice

Hello,

about a month ago I recieved very poor service at a local fast food restaurant. When I got home I got on the internet and blogged about the service, and made some very mean nasty comments about the person that served it to me. The manager of the restaurant ended up reading the blog. He called the police, and they did an investigation that ultimately linked it back to my computer. The detective told me that the prosecuting attorneys office might form a case out of this. I just need to know, should I be getting a lawyer? from the info so far do they have much of a case? I would really appreciate an answer.

Without knowing exactly what you've blogged - - - - it is not possible to guess about whether the prosecutor could make a case against you. However, you can read more at:

Re: Need legal advice

Unless you threatened to commit a criminal act or encouraged others to do the same, I don't see a problem.

Any question of defamation (libel) is a civil, not criminal, matter.
