Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

Is it legal to videotape someone without their knowledge or consent & show as ma

I was taped without my knowledge or consent. This tape has been shown to alot of people. I know this because buzz words I hear are from the tape. I get laughs in my face, I get angry responses from people that Ive never met, I have been publicly humiliated. I cant prove it yet, but I know who they are. I feel I have to have some rights. What should have been a night long forgotten has turned my life into a nightmare, All the taunting & comments & strangers recognise me, all the looks like I feel sorry for you. Ive taken this for two years now. I dont think it will end. Im afraid to leave my house. I feel like a walking joke. Do I have any rights?

It depends. In your letter you do not say what you were doing when videotaped. Were you out in public, where anyone could have seen you, or were you in a place where it would be reasonable to expect privacy, free from prying eyes? Also, did you know you were being videotaped at the time?

Recently, the court of appeals upheld a substantial verdict against a former 'boyfriend' of a woman who found out later that he was videotapong her when they were intimate, and revealing the film to others.
