Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
Lie Dector Requested to build case against suspect
I was questioned about a fire that happened over a year ago then asked to take a lie detector test. The detective said that they already know who did it and the purpose of the lie detector was so the defense couldn't try and say I did it. This sounds weird to me. Is this standard practice in an investigation? Or am I being looked at as an accesory?

I don't know how routine this practice may be but, more impotantly, why are you scared? Just say no to the request.
