Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
likelihood of drug test
I am going to be going in to court soon to be sentenced for a misedeanor shoplifting case. I have spoken to the prosecutor and I am going to be fined with no probation..Knowing this, what is the likelihood they will give me a drug test even though my sentence will only be fines? Im just curious! Thank You

Re: likelihood of drug test
Most likely depends on what you told probation during your pre-sentence interview. If you admitted that drugs or alcohol were taken during the incident, the chances of random screens are high. If not, you might not be tested. If you're asked to take a test, and since you were not arrested for a drug crime, be honest about the last time you used. That should not be held against you. Good luck.
