if i live in Florida and just got news from my family that i have charges can i get representation without going all the way up there?

I'm assuming you mean you have pending charges in Michigan? Yes, you can secure representation while in Florida with a Michigan lawyer, but eventually you will have to come back up here at least some to get it resolved. Some misdemeanors it's possible to do a plea by mail if the court allows it. If it's a felony then you have to come back up here. You need to retain an experienced criminal defense lawyer in the area where your case is pending.
