Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
I live in Livingston county michigan, I was issued a possession of marijanna charge. I had ten days to report in for the charge. It took the officer fourteen days to file the charge. My question is how long does the officer have to file the charge if I am to report in on the charge in ten days?

They have 6 years to bring charges.
The 14 days is when you have to appear for an arraignment. They don't always have the paperwork ready by then so call the court before you go to see if you need to appear. Otherwise, keep checking back with the court periodically to see if the paperwork is in. Sometimes they wait for the lab results to come back from the Michigan State Police crime lab confirming the substance is marijuana.
They have six years from the date of the offense to bring charges.
