Re: marijuana
Delivery of marijuana is a felony [MCL 333.7401(2)(d)(iii)].
Juveniles don't face the "jail / fines & costs" penalties that adults do. The disposition (sentencing) options in juvenile court are usually probation (where the court can order the minor to participate in counseling, do community service, etc.) or some kind of residential treatment program (if it's more of a hard-core problem).
Some courts (like ours in Eaton County) have "drug court" programs, which are more intensive than typical probation ... but are also more effective in changing drug/alcohol behavior.
A drug offense adjudication (conviction) gets reported to the secretary of state, and results in a driver's license suspension ... or makes it harder to get a license if the minor doesn't have one yet.
