Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
I married one of my daughter's mother but she is getting state assistance and didnt tell her case worker that we were married 3 years ago. Can we be prosecuted for fraud?

Whoever signed the paperwork along the way with the state and misrepresented the household and/or income status is at risk of being prosecuted. But if you did not sign the paperwork and only benefit from her state assistance because it helps pay your joint bills, then I don't see you as being in criminal jeopardy -- just the people who sign the forms.
