Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

Minor In Possession of Alcohol

I Got charged for an Mip im 19 years old and its my first offense. i have to go to court next week. now i heard that the fine is not more than $100.00 but im wondering if thats Court Cost included or not i dont know if its going to be 100 dollars or more.

And i have another Question. Is it Possible if i could ask the Judge due to the fact that im unenployed but could i ask the judge if i could work off the Fines by Doing Community Service?

Thanks

Re: Minor In Possession of Alcohol

Typically courts have a first-offender program. The fine is in addition to court costs. Many courts will allow a person to do community service to work off part of fines & costs. I have never seen anyone get community service for 100%.

Also, if you get a first offender program - you will have to pay for the classes the court will send you to.
