Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
MIP Punishment
I got an MIP in michigan last night. I'm 19 and this is my first offense. I've heard that if you bring money to court and pay the fine up front, the charges will sometimes be dropped. Is that true at all?

I have not heard of this. You are best served hiring local counsel who can keep this off your permanent criminal record. Visit www.kliszlaw.com to discuss. Tim Klisz

Re: MIP Punishment
It is not usual to have criminal charges dropped just by bringing money to court. I recommend you have an aggressive, experienced lawyer working with you to try to clear up this problem and prevent you from having a criminal record for life.
