Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

misdeamonor

I plead no contest to a misdeamonor back in 2002.I was sentenced to 2 years probation. Will this show up on any databases such as employment verifaction?

Also how long do I have to wait to have it expunged?

Thank you.

Re: misdeamonor

What was the misdemeanor? If it was traffic-related, no expungement. Was your no contest plea taken under advisement? If it was, no action is necessary - provided that you completed your probation. Is it the only crime on your record? If not, no expungement.

You need to provide more information.

All adult criminal convictions normally appear on your criminal history for life. Five years after sentencing, you can ask the court to expunge that record IF you meet the other statutory requirments. Hire with an experienced attorney to assist you.
