Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

Misdemeanor appearance ticket requirments

I was given a misdemeanor ticket which states "disorderly Conduct-Allowing a Disorderly Residence." Nothing is written in the code/ordinance box, i.e. a code #. Is this ticket valid and can I have it disallowed for this mistake? Please e-mail me with a definitive answer! [email protected]

Thanks

Re: Misdemeanor appearance ticket requirments

An appearance ticket is not defective simply because the office did not write down the statute number. The ticket must give you fair notice of the charge you are facing. The "Disorderly Conduct" statute is easy to find. It contains a laundry list of socially objectionable conduct. The phrase "Allowing a Disorderly Residence" isn't exactly one of them, but there is a section or two that talk about drug houses or "houses of ill repute". I assume that's what the cop meant to say.
