Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
Hi, I have three misdemeanor charges on my record, from approx. 15yrs. ago, and was wondering if there is any way to have them expunged from my record. I am laid off from my job of 20 yrs. and am wondering if this would help in my employment search? Thanks for any advice on this matter

Under current Michigan law, you cannot set aside (expunge) any of these convictions because you have more than one criminal conviction. Michigan currently allows people to petition to set aside their "one and only" conviction -- not this 'first of several' or 'one of several'. But the legislature has been considering changes to this law that would expand opportunities to petition to set aside a conviction when you have more than one. Talk to your state representative.
