Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
money taken from work
My question is, if I took money from work, paid it back and resigned from the job, they do know about it. If they decide to call the police what kind of charges will be filed? If the place of work is saying as far as they are concerned it is taken care of but they have to notify police. Will the police for sure file charges or is there even the possiblity of them not pursuing it? If charges are filed, what should I do?

Re: money taken from work
Whether or not the prosecuting attorney files charges in any case becomes discretionary with the prosecutor. Whether or not they will do so under these circumstances is impossible to tell, that is at least until any statutory of limitations expires on the particular crime. In your situation, it seems unlikely that they would in that you appear to have made restitution. If they do charge you, you will need representation.

I recommend that you have an experienced and aggressive attorney on board BEFORE the charges are filed. Our firm has succeeded in preventing the filing of charges in these sort of cases.
