Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
names on indictment
Does the order of the names on an indictment have any significance, relating to the degree of guilt or responsibility of the accused? What happens to the others, if one takes a plea bargain? Also, why would a prosecutor move the deadline for accepting a plea bargain ahead a couple of weeks, giving the accused less time to consider his response?

Re: names on indictment
No, the order is insignificant.
The one who gets the plea bargain usually does so by implicating the others.
Usually, the prosecutor has secured all the evidence he needs and has no reason to delay for a particular defendant.
