Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan
I have a neighbor who is facing misdemenor charges for his unlicenced dog who got out bit me and nearly killed my dog on my property. To make me look bad he recently called the local police and said I tried to poison his dog with tainted bones that he claims I threw in his back yard. This is a completely manufactored claim and any eveidence! He is willing to lie. I don't buy meat with bones in it at all!! Knowing how incompetent the local police are I am afraid I will be charged. I could lose EVERYTHING I OWN and even my beloved dogs. This is so wrong on so many levels. To anyone this is obviously a relalitory case from my neighbor considering the charges he is facing plus a civil lawsuit from me for my bites I got from his dog who was also without a rabies shot. The cop who spoke to me seemed to be on my neighbors side and said he had the bones in his trunk. But, I did not do this and that is the TRUTH! What can I do besides wait, this is tearing me up.

Not much but hire a criminal defense attorney who can handle everything for you once charges are brought. I don't know what evidence they have, but may have been scaring you into some sort of admission. Please don't post anything else here on this forum or anywhere else as this could be used against you as evidence (these facts are very unique) Discuss this with a private attorney at your earliest opportunity.
